My Rating:

As a child, Rose Franklin made an astonishing discovery: a giant metallic hand, buried deep within the earth. As an adult, she’s dedicated her brilliant scientific career to solving the mystery that began that fateful day: Why was a titanic robot of unknown origin buried in pieces around the world? Years of investigation have produced intriguing answers—and even more perplexing questions. But the truth is closer than ever before when a second robot, more massive than the first, materializes and lashes out with deadly force.

Now humankind faces a nightmare invasion scenario made real, as more colossal machines touch down across the globe. But Rose and her team at the Earth Defense Corps refuse to surrender. They can turn the tide if they can unlock the last secrets of an advanced alien technology. The greatest weapon humanity wields is knowledge in a do-or-die battle to inherit the Earth . . . and maybe even the stars.

This book picks up right after the first in the series. If you read the first one, which I hope you really did, you'll know that Doctor Rose Franklin died and misteriously reappeared at the end of Sleeping Giants.

This book focus on their efforts to make their robot work while trying to defend the earth from new robots that appeared.

As the first book in this series, Waking Gods takes place a bit all over the world but mainly in the US and UK, if I'm not mistaken. Unlike the first book this focus more on the characters and at the troubles at hand, than the politics that come with it.

Rose Franklin - I still really love this character but since what happened to her, she changed a bit (wouldn't you?) but at the core she's still the same lovely girl who found the hand.

Kara Resnik - Still freaking love her to death and she ended up breaking my heart and we shall never discuss this character again ok?

Ryan Mitchell - This bitch just had to show up, didn't he? Well he actually did something good but still... hate his guts.

Vincent Couture - I absolutely loved this character. We come to know him more and more in this one and let me tell you, what a gentleman he is. My hearts breaks for him.

The Interviewer - I absolutely loved him even more in this book. But you know the deal... I always need to get my heart broken over characters that I love right? Damn authors...

Seriously this series is so good, it has become one of my favorites so far and I'm incredibly happy that the 3rd and final book in this series in coming out on my birthday May 1st 2018.

I really can't go into much detail about this one since spoilers, and I already gave way too much away. So just go read it and then come talk to me again.
